It is widely accepted that acne is the product of hormonal irregularities in the body. Adolescent acne, acne during pregnancy or menstruation have a apparent link to moments when the body has these irregularities in play. Concerning acne beyond the adolescent years, in men or even in women that are not expecting, the hormonal connection is in attendance but is not so obvious.
The valid question to be answered at this juncture is how the hormonal imbalances take place outside of these rather obvious times.
There are essentially three areas that may be isolated as being the reason for acne and can point to an effective acne treatment program. Not one is a single reason in themselves. Every one has a “roll on” effect to the others resulting in a kind of downhill descent into acne outbreaks.
1. What you eat
Quite frequently diet is devalued as a trigger of acne. This has occurred as a result of of such acne myths as eating carbohydrates causes acne. Or, that eating desserts triggers acne. The problem with these myths is that they oversimplify the subject so significantly that the reality is twisted into a catchword rather than an explanation.
The truth is that certain foods do trigger acne but they do not cause acne without help. Some foods are not handled correctly by the body or instigate adverse reactions in the body in the presence of stress or whilst the person is in a condition of hormonal imbalance. Which is why many persons can consume all the incorrect things and still not get acne. Yet other people eat just the smallest possible amount of something and they breakout inside minutes.
Also inside this grouping is the issue of artificial food additives and hormones given to food stock animals. It may possibly not be YOUR hormones that are the problem; it could be the hormones in the meat or dairy goods you are consuming.
It is not what you eat by itself that causes acne. It is diet in concert with the emotional state of the person and the hormonal circumstances of the person that triggers acne.
2. Hormones
Hormones are recognized as the source of acne yet this too is not wholly true.
Let’s say you eat fast food and exclusively fast food every day. That food is overflowing with oils, carbohydrates and sugars that are said to be unhealthy for you and trigger acne. Your colleague consumes the same things however gets no acne. You develop acne… why?
There are two possibilities in reality. To begin with, you have a hormonal imbalance already that interferes with your body from absorbing the food properly resulting in more acne outbreaks.
Or, the food itself triggers a hormonal imbalance resulting in acne outbreaks. As you can see they are each intertwined and we nevertheless have one more to go!
3. Stress and Emotion
A lot has been expounded upon in relation to the consequences of stress and emotion as being a major cause of acne. Yet again, this is not wholly true.
The effect of stress or undesirable emotion will be a disturbance to your body’s routine operations. So from that we can conclude that the stress will produce hormonal imbalance and that will end with acne.
However we can flip the coin on that as well. If you already have a hormonal disturbance then your body will not be running properly. This leads to sensations of stress or emotional disturbance. That in turn leads in the direction of further hormonal imbalance and results in acne. It runs in both directions!
Really these three principles are entirely and inseparably intertwined. Your acne trouble is very specific to you, your everyday life and your body. There really could be no one size fits all acne treatment for the reason that your acne is exclusive to you.
The most effective acne treatment routine is a program that takes into account the three causes of acne and their relationship on each other. It must additionally acknowledge in what way these three items are performing in you as an individual.
