3 Household Cures for Acne to Help You Clear up Your Skin

  • Sharebar

Teenagers across the world have a problem with acne. Teenagers aren’t the only people to suffer from acne though, as adults are susceptible to it as well. It is a constant battle for many people around the world and it causes hurtful inflammations anywhere on your body that is susceptible to clogged pores.

Regular skin care is essential to treating and preventing acne, but since the most common root cause is not necessarily oil or dirt, but genetics, acne can rear its head any time, anywhere, for any person. Despite Hollywood’s best efforts to hide them, even movie stars with so called perfect skin get pimples. Fortunately for us who aren’t movie stars, we don’t have to give an arm and a leg just to get our acne treated. Just by applying some simple home remedies for acne, you can keep the skin on your face appearing smooth and clear for many years to come.

If you apply a raw papaya juice onto your pimples, it can help to shrink and eliminate them.By applying the whole fruit your skin including the pulp and seeds, you get the full effects and benefits that are contained in it.When you apply it, you want to put it on evenly and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. This will help to exfoliate your skin and give it a good conditioning, as well as helping to clear up any blemishes that might be present.

Another truly powerful remedy for acne, if you can get your hands on it, is sandalwood powder. Mix it up into a paste with either lime juice or high fat content milk. Apply the paste and let it sit for a while, then wash it off. The Sandalwood is going to help soak up any of the extra oils that are on your skin and the milk will work to moisturize. Sandalwood powder is essentially just pulverized sawdust that has had all of the oil that used to be present in the wood  removed, so it soaks up oil incredibly well.

Drinking water is another really good slow acting remedy for acne. Your body needs water, and if it doesn’t get enough, it diverts water from less important areas to more important ones. While your skin is certainly important, your heart, lungs, and stomach are a bit higher priority, so in the absence of enough water, it takes it from your skin until you replenish it. This can be avoided by drinking a lot of water.

Medicinal remedies are fine, and they work, but at what cost? Some of them are even petroleum based, or use harsh solvents to dry out your skin. Only the really high quality high dollar medicinal skin care products are truly good for your skin, but in the cost of these things put them out of most people’s budgets. Home remedies for acne are the way to go if you want to be environmentally responsible and naturally healthy.
