  • Sharebar

I want to get rid of my acne and i heard toothpaste works.. Do I just put it on before I go to bed and then in the morning take if off? How does it work?

Comment by admin — Toothpaste will dry out the odd pimple but is not a real cure for acne.

The alcohol in the toothpaste drys out the pimple. There are better remedies though…
The tricky part about acne is that the problem can
actually become worse if you overmedicate. That’s
because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing
a boost in your skin’s Sebum (oil) production. This
results in…you guessed it – more acne.
So what’s the long term solution? Find gentler
solutions or even natural acne cures that won’t
shock your body into more breakouts.
    Here’s what I recommend…
    Glycerin based facewash:
Glycerin is gentler and will balance the
    pH levels in your skin.
    Antibacterial Soap:
For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap
to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry,
switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to
    counterbalance the effect.
    Don’t Overwash:
Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently
    pat dry with a towel.
    Moisterize:
Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based
face wash drys you out too much. I like using
    Aveeno moisterizers personally.
    Change Your Diet:
Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid
excess sugar intake. Food really does make a difference.
This is because the food you put into your body has a
direct effect on your Sebum (oil) production. By eating
the right foods, you’ll minimize oily skin, thereby
    preventing breakouts.
    Egg Whites:
If acne medication isn’t working or causing new breakouts,
try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed.
This natural remedy works by gently drying out the clogged
pores and clearing up the pimple.
    Oatmeal Masks:
One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an
“oatmeal mask”. The oatmeal with smooth your skin while
simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.
Try this for a few days straight. Wear the oatmeal mask
for 10 minutes, then wash off. You’ll have a nice
    glowing complexion right after.
    Lemon Juice:
Lemon juice also dries up pimples and kills any bacteria
in the infection. The citric acid also balances your skin’s
pH levels to prevent future breakouts.
    Honey:
Yes, despite your initial beliefs, honey is FANTASTIC for
skin care. Actually, you may notice on many moisterizers
that honey is an ingredient. Much like the lemon solution
above, honey balances the skins pH levels. Test out this
sticky remedy by dabbing pimples with honey and leaving it
on for 5-10 minutes. You can apply full honey masks to your
face but I prefer the oatmeal masks instead.
    They’re less messy.

First of all, no one has flawless skin. Some people have it better than others, but thats just genes and stuff. Go to http://www.freewebs .com/reelbeauty11 for skin and beauty tips. I know its for young girls, but it works for anyone!
I know some people who have tried ProActive and it worked, but I also know some others who have tried it and it made it worse :( I know some who have put rubbing alchol on their skin or peroxcide to dry up the pimples. It also kills bacteria :) . Also, try going to a dermotoligist, or ask your regular doctor. Often times the regular doctor, who knows more about your med. history and whatnot can help you more than a dermatologist.
are you a vegetarian? That might have something to do with it. Its worth checking into.
Try dabbing toothpaste or honey on your zits before you go to bed – works wonders.
Overall, remember that beauty counts more on the inside than on the outside, and your true friends will love you for you, and not your skin.
Oh, and try a different kind of foundation, if you wear it. Try to use a kind with lots of water in it. It looks great and doesn’t clog pores half as bad. And check your habits – do you prop your chin up a lot with your hands? That might cause the acne as well. Look for the cause, as well as the cure.

Well toothpaste doesn’t help get rid of Acne,
What it does do is dry out the pimple, after you popped it. Therefore, it won’t look all gross.
I’ve never tried it,but my friends have, and all you do it put toothpaste on it for a few hours, then wash it off.

It drys it up and stops inflammation, apply it and leave it for 2-5 minutes and wash it off. Don’t leave it over Night. That can mess up your skin. Visit Http://SmoothMoistSkin.com for more information.

The toothpaste gets rid of the redness on your skin and it also helps to dry up the acne. I would apply it at night before you go to bed. It won’t come off until it is washed.

I used toothpaste on a giant pimple that was on my chin. I was desperate because it was one of those hard painful ones. When I woke up the next morning it was so much better. It actually popped that morning while i was in the shower. Then I put medicine on it and it cleared up in two days. It did not burn me or anything. I wouldn’t rub it all over my face but a little doesn’t hurt me.

Whenever you try a new beauty regime and out makes you break out immediately, understand this: it is VERY likely you’ll break out the first few times during the use of your new routine. Why? Because its drawing out all the bactrria under the skin! Give it a chance to work a few days! Always frustrating when people complain that something didnt work for them the first time. No one realizes the crud under their skin has to be brought to surface to get elliminated.

I cleared up my acne issue with a Refining Cleanser that seems to have done the trick. I also use Argan Oil for my hair and skin. I get both from Russell Organics at http://www.russellorganics.com Their product work well.
