How Long Did It Take For Your Acne To Disappear?
by admin on June 24, 2009
I just started using Oxy acne treatment.
I’ve tried tons of things, but none of them have every actually gotten rid of my acne.
I even used the “magical” Proactive, which didn’t do anything for me.
The best I’ve gotten out of acne treatments is 2 weeks of “Woo hoo! It’s gone”, then it comes back full force and doesn’t seem to go away.
So I’m just wondering, how long did it take you guys to get rid of your acne?
And after you got rid of it, did you still have to keep cleaning your face rigorously to keep it from coming back?
ALSO! What would be best for body acne? I hate this acne I have on my shoulders and back… I’m using the sample soaps I got with my Oxy box.

Well, I can tell you that I’ve had acne (face & back) ever since I was about 14. I’ve tried everything under the sun, and yes, even Proactive, which did absolutely nothing but dry my skin out and make it feel tight and itchy. When I got into my 20′s, I was still having the same acne and it wouldn’t go away.
Then, I started researching nutrition and stuff, originally to get in better shape but, it ended up having a secondary effect that was very desirable. I cut out sugar, flour (bread, cookies, crackers, chips), and partially hydrogenated oils out of my diet, and began ingesting large amounts of greens. (I bought a Juicer and began making fresh vegetable juices with Kale, carrots, broccoli. I also started eating a lot of apples- love them! Let me tell you- what a difference! HUGE. Now, if I eat a sugary meal or junk food, when I wake up the next day it shows on my face! As long as I eat healthy and avoid sugar, flour, and bad fats, my face face and back stay clear.
Basically, I found a connection between diet and my acne. Try it for like a week and see if yours clears up too. I can’t emphasize enough about the flour though- yes, even whole wheat flour would cause me to break out. So, get a “flourless” bread, like Ezekiel or Diabetic Lifestyles. Sugar seemed to be the worst offender. I eat a lot of BROWN rice, which doesn’t seem to bother my skin, as well as Quinoa. You can also get brown rice pasta if you like pasta. The green veggies are a must as well- if I go more than a day without eating greens I start breaking out. What I do is have a green vegetable juice in the morning, and then eat a green salad (Earthbound farms Organic Baby Greens) with lunch and dinner.
This is the ONLY thing that works for me!
i never got anywhere with skincare products, even the best products only make an improvement, not a big shange or recovery. if you’ve been trying to get rid of anything worse than mild acne for a while, and its not working, i really recomend oral antibiotics. they clear up most acne in 5-12 weeks. you can get it from the doctor, and you can get skincare from the doctor of a higher strength than in shops to help unblock you pores that complements the pills. if you think about it, no wash or cream can ever penetrate far enough into your skin to kill the bacteria which cause the spots, especially if your pores are blocked, as they always are for acne sufferers. you need to kill the bacteria so they wont infect the blocked pores, and use a medicated gel that unblocks your pores. it worked for me. consider it!
it took about 4 months for me, but it would have been alot shorter if i hadnt been on a contreceptive that made me hormonaly suseptable so acne. i have male and female friends who have used this treatment and it usualy worked between 6 and 12 weeks.
All do you don’t care about this but I had acne too! You need antibiotics from your doctor tetracycline its an oral antibiotic! Its stops them from forming but its prescription only!
I use a product that makes it so that i rarely have any acne and my face is perfectly clear, but then once i month I get a prominent zit. Scrubbing hard will only make it worse.
40 yrs old and i have pimples NOW!
