Is grape seed extract and other supplements effective against skin aging?

  • Sharebar

I am in my 20′s and am being proactive against the aging process. My diet is full of fruits and vegetables, but I am also taking several vitamins like grape seed extract, fish oil and several other vitamins to combat skin aging. We may get old, but I would prefer to look and feel young. Is this effective at prevention of sagging and wrinkles or am I just wasting my money?

The best way to prevent aging is to use a sunscreen, and the best sunscreens to use are those with zinc oxide. Unlike chemical filters, zinc oxide, a physical filter, WILL NOT degrade in sunlight. That means as long as you apply it in the morning and you don’t sweat it off or wash it off, the zinc oxide sunscreen will be on your skin for the rest of the day. Chemical filters need to be reapplied every two hours, but zinc oxide only needs to be reapplied if it washes off!

Another advantage of zinc oxide as a sunscreen is that it protects against UVA and UVB damage, so it is the most broad-spectrum sunscreen filter out there.

Just like to add that while some fruit is good in the diet, it does contain fructose which is one of the worst types of sugar, So limit fruit to 2 pieces a day!

aging is inevitible man, moisturize your skin, stay out of the sun, and while i dont specificalyl know of evidence for or against grape seed extract and skin elasticity, i’m sure any antioxidant product is better than none.
and far as my education has taught me,, nutrients eaten seem to get better results than those rubbed on your body..
    example
i eat lots of protein,, i dont use protein enhanced cosmetics or shampoo but my stylist asks me why my hair and skin and nails are firm and in good shape… it’s the diet.
im sure a healthy diet rich in antioxidants and protein will do more than something you rub on your face.

Sun exposure is one of the leading causes of skin damage, which can lead to premature aging. Use a sunscreen as often as possibile to eliminate the possibility of age spots and other discolorations and premature wrinkling.

Nutrition certainly helps, but also learn how to take care of your skin. There are a lot of products out there for men specifically. The best thing you can do is keep your skin clean and moisturized, and exfoliate early and often.

Also drink lots of water and get as much sleep as you can.
