Acne is a skin condition that affects up 90% of the population to some degree. It can end in youg adulthood for most people but commonly starts during adolescents. Acne affects an individual due to many, many reasons but a large number of them can be becasue of some basic factors. Blocked pores and follicles in the skin bring about a skin condition called acne. Clogged follicles become infected in a short time. Also, the release of hormones in the body can bring on a case of acne. These hormones tend to be popular in young adulthood as they are only being released during adolescents hence the reason why acne is more prevalent. There are three ways in which acne occurs and these three ways can all be resolved with medication in some cases and the best in skin care.

The first type of skin irritation would appear as a circular pimple with a distinctively white top and results from acne and is known as a whitehead or closed comedone. In this case dead skin, bacteria and excess oils have clogged the pore. Another type of skin irritation associated with acne is the blackhead (open comedone) and this is similar to the whitehead except it is open to the air and the material that is blocking the pore has oxidized and gives the appearance of being black. A common misinterpretation is that dirt clogging the pore is what is commonly called a blackhead but this is not the case. The third type of skin irritation that acne can produce is a cyst. These are more serious and occur when the cell wall is damaged and allows bacteria to infect the skin below the surface. Often more painful and even larger than both blackhead and whitehead. These cysts should be treated gently and may require a visit to a dermatologist if they are severe. One reason for this is that as uncomfortable as a blachead and a whitehead may be their response to minor treatment is excellent. One typical reason for scarring after acne is when a cyst penetrates more and larger areas of skin. Antibiotics prescribed by a dermatologist can prevent this and minimize infection.

Heredity seems to be another popular cause of acne. Studies have found that there is a hereditary link between the initial occurrence and duration of acne in family members. Although changing your family history is impossible know about acne in your family’s past will help you to act sooner in order to control the acne situation.

While the treatments for acne varies between individuals, the combination of certain cleansers to unclog the pores coupled with a topical solution of benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria seems to work for most people with mild acne. An acne solution can be as simple as medication taken simultaneously with dermatologist treatment. The best acne treatment might be to keep the affected area clean by washing it with a warm soapy solution and applying a mild acne cream to any areas that develop pimples. On the market exist a very wide range of natural treatments for acne that people find not only more effective but gentler on the skin.
