These days, you see natural skincare products advertised everywhere. Go to a department store and you’ll be amazed at the selection. Watch TV and you’ll see a skin cream commercial. Read a magazine and you’ll skim over a body lotion ad.
It seems like you’re always being warned to take care of your skin. You hear, use our product or wrinkles and lines will crop up. Skin will begin to sag. Companies deliberately use scare tactics on consumers, because they work.
If you’re desperate to reverse signs of skin aging, you can be easily persuaded to make an impulse purchase. But wait, don’t do it!
Buying something on impulse, by its very name, means you don’t know much about the product. That’s okay if you’re buying something like shoes. Shoes are shoes. Even if you take them home and find out later that they hurt your feet, you can still return them.
But natural skincare products are different. When you rub a skin cream on your skin, it’s absorbed through pores into the bloodstream and tissues. What ingredients are you putting into your body? Are any of them harmful? Are they effective? You won’t know any of this without having researched the product.
Yet it’s relatively simple to gauge the effectiveness of natural skincare products.
Just focus on the ingredients.
Here are three of the best:
Wakame Kelp. It contains a range of vitamins and minerals essential to skin health. Research has also shown that this extract helps keep skin protein levels high. The firmness of your skin depends on proteins; they are a major factor in tissue repair.
Honey. It shows remarkable anti-bacterial and antioxidant qualities. This means it has the power to help heal infections, cuts, and burns. And it also helps repair free radical damage at the cellular level. Honey has also been known to fade stretch marks and scars leaving your skin smooth and blemish-free.
One type of honey, manuka honey, has been identified has the most effective for skin health.
Jojoba Oil. It feels like a liquid wax and it has a two-prong moisturizing affect on skin. First, it penetrates deep into the skin. Then it dries to a clear film and locks in moisture. This also blocks dirt and grime from getting into pores and dulling the glow of your skin.
These are just three beneficial ingredients. However, I wouldn’t buy any skin cream until I could see the full list of ingredients. Besides the good ones, you should also know which ingredients are harmful. A couple of them you should absolutely not put on your skin.
