Skin Care Tips For Winter

  • Sharebar

The freezing conditions in Germany can cause the skin irritation and dryness. Winter can even make nice moisturised skin dry and irritated. We believe that wearing few layers of clothes will keep us warm and also protect our skin. That is not correct as we have to moisturize our skin in winter as well as other seasonal period to keep our skin moisturised and in good condition.

Here is some advice on what you can do to protect your skin in winter.

Drinking plenty of water keeps our organs hydrated and the biggest organ we have in our body is the skin. Drinking lots of water also keeps our skin moisturised from inside. When we do activities which makes our body sweat, it is essential for us to replace the water we have lost through our skin.

Before you go to sleep it is very important to apply creams to our skin. I know most of us do apply creams during the day but sometimes we forget to apply them at night. Activities throughout the day reduce the moisture in the skin and this will continue if we do not moisturise our skin at night. You will be able to see the lack of moisture in your skin when your feet starts drying and cracking up.

Use humidifiers in your homes as air in the winter can get very dry. As the heater is almost on all day and night long it can cause a drying effect on your skin, you will also feel your nasal passages getting dryer. Hence add a bit of moisture in the air, for that all you need is humidifiers in Germany we call it luftbefeuchter.

Have shower with cold water if you cannot handle the cold water then make it warm but not too warm. I know we all love having shower in hot water in winter but it normally dries our skin,, so it is wise to use warm water other than hot.
